Father's Jalapeno Pork Cracklins - 1 lb. |
|
Father's Crackins are part of our farming heritage. Our cracklins are processed from the skins of country hams. In the early 1900's, my great grandparents killed hogs on our farm and made cracklins for a family treat and to snack on during the winter. Cracklins were not only eaten as a snack but used in cooking and baking cracklin cornbread. You can use our Original or Jalapeno flavored cracklins to make cracklin cornbread. Try mixing our Weisenberger Cornbread Mix with 1 to 2 cups of cracklins to make cracklin cornbread. There are many recipes available on the internet for cracklin cornbread.
Father's Cracklins are made from fresh pork skins, cut and cooked to a golden crisp in a special hot vat. We then cook our cracklins a second time in our convection oven to improve their old fashioned flavor and add additional spices for the Jalapeno or BBQ flavored cracklins.
